Iolani Palace was the official royal residence of King Kalākaua, his wife Queen Kapiolani, and his sister and heir to the throne, Queen Liliuokalani, from 1882 to 1893. The Friends of Italy Society of Hawaii has partnered with Iolani Palace to offer a private guided tour that explores the connections between the Kingdom of Hawaii and Italy during the 1880s. Please join us as we learn about royal visits to Italy as well as objects in the Palace with an Italian association.
Born and raised in Honolulu, Marybeth Fentriss is a member of the Friends of Italy Society of Hawaii and very much enjoys the cooking classes and enrichment opportunities sponsored by the Society. Marybeth has been a docent at Iolani Palace since 2015 and looks forward to sharing her knowledge with you.
