The Friends of Italy Society of Hawai'i is excited to invite you to our annual Cena di Natale!

Hiroyuki Mimura, executive chef at the sister restaurant Taormina, will serve a very special 4-course menu for us at Appetito, as it provides a larger dining hall than Taormina and we can have the whole restaurant for ourselves. Chef Hiro worked in fine dining in Florence and in 2004 placed 1st in the Entree Competition at La Rotta del Vino Slow Food Contest. Since 2010, he has served as the Executive Chef of Taormina Sicilian Cuisine, where he creates authentic Sicilian dishes and is always happy to talk with guests in Italian.

Fish menu:

Antipasto: Antipasto di mare. Kona abalone with anchovy butter crusted with bread crumbles.
Primo: Pasta al granchio. Fettuccine with white crab tomato cream sauce top with crab claw.
Secondo: Pesce alla siciliana. Today`s catch grilled with oregano vinaigrette, accompanied by kale salad and roasted tomato.
Dolce: Tiramisu’

Meat menu:

Antipasto: Caprese alla pugliese. Burrata cheese, semi-dry tomato from Napoli, Prosciutto San Daniele.
Primo: Pasta ai porcini e tartufo. Rigatoni with porcini cream and truffle.
Secondo: Vitello di manzo alla Milanese con salsa di pomodoro e rucola. Veal cutlet with mozzarella cheese on tomato sauce with arugula.
Dolce: Tiramisu’.

Vegetarian menu:

Antipasto: Caprese alla pugliese. Burrata cheese, semi-dry tomato from Napoli.
Primo: Pasta ai porcini e tartufo. Rigatoni with porcini cream and truffle.
Secondo: Funghi e pure’ al tartufo. Grilled Portobello mushroom with truffle mushed potato, accompanied by sautéed kale.
Dolce: Tiramisu’.

Children menu:

Primo: Pasta al granchio (1/2 portion)
Secondo: Pesce alla siciliana (1/2 portion)
Dolce: Gelato

No-host bar: A full bar of Italian wines, cocktails, liqueurs, "digestivi," and coffee will be available for purchase.

Suggested attire: Festive cocktail attire in red, gold, or silver.

Parking: Validated parking at Ohana East on Kuhio ($6 for four hours); always consider catching a Lift or Uber.

Register: As early as you can to reserve your seats and help us organize--no later than November 30, 2019 or when sold out.

No refunds, except if FOISOH cannot deliver this program.
