Executive Chef Masatsugu "Masa"Kubo. Kubo first took an interest in culinary arts as a child and began his formal training at 18 years old. He traveled to Emilia-Romagna and worked at various venues throughout Italy as well as at Italian restaurant Casa Grande in Kyoto. From there, he took on the challenge of honing his skills in French and Japanese cuisine at a French-based Japanese restaurant Kihachi. Shortly after that, he began his tenure at Plan Do See Japan for which he steadily worked to diversify his culinary skills further as Executive Chef in multiple venues including Italian, Italian & French, and fine dining restaurant in a hotel. Most notably, he worked as Executive Chef at Kawabun, a 400-year old ryoutei restaurant in Nagoya, Japan which serves luxurious traditional Japanese cuisine. In 2015, Kubo transferred to Plan Do See America where he worked as the opening chef for Deco Blue in the Marriott Stanton South Beach hotel in Miami, Florida and for the award-winning Azabu Miami, an outpost of the Michelin-starred Sushi Azabu in NYC.
